Kobe Bryant signed a two-year, $48.5 million contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers making him the highest paid player in the league (before taxes & fees) at 36-years old. The contract limited the moves the Lakers could make in what was supposed to be a big free agency year for them. Many people have been critical of the contract especially with star players like Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki taking pay cuts. Well Kobe Bryant says he took a pay cut too!

On Tuesday night Dirk Nowitzki surpassed Hakeem Olajuwon to become the NBA’s all-time leading international scorer and ninth overall. That same night, his new teammate Chandler Parsons’ hit five three-pointers as the Mavericks beat the Kings 106-98. Now either the Starbucks barista just saw a tall white guy and assumed it was Dirk or Chandler decided to pay homage to his childhood idol after a big game.
