Kelis and Nas had quite a messy divorce a few years back, but it seemed the pair were on the road to redemption last summer when they were spotted together often and Nas even revealed he was trying to get that old thing back. Jane Lynch is pulling the plug on her 3-year marriage to wife Dr. Lara Embry. The pair married in Massachusetts (where gay marriage is legal), but will dissolve it in CA, where they’re both residents. Though California has yet to legalize gay marriage, the State recognizes marriages from places where it is legal. L”Lara and I have decided to end our marriage,” Jane said in a statement. “This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another.” There is no pre-nup involved.
M.I.A. Is Being Blocked From Taking Her Son Home To England…But She’s Fighting It!
M.I.A.’s child’s father Ben Bronfman filed a restraining order in March to prevent the singer from bringing their son to her native England, but M.I.A. is challenging the order now, saying New York courts have committed a human rights violation, and it amounts to international child abduction. She’s filed legal docs in New York federal court, citing The Hague Convention as proof the NY state judge had no authority to block her move to England. However, Ben has filed legal docs of his own, saying it’d be a “travesty” to move his child so far. Wonder who will prevail!
Russell Brand Opens Up About Katy Perry Divorce
Russell Brand and Katy Perry were so in love when they were together, so their divorce came as a shock to many. In the July issue of Esquire UK, the comedian opens up about the failed marriage and why things didn’t work out. The main issue? Other women, but of course! “I’ve given over too much of my life to its pursuit,” Russell said. “And I’ve probably harmed other people, by being selfish. And really, I’d like to be married. I’m just not transmitting that frequency of “Soulmate! Soulmate!” I’m transmitting the frequency of ‘Mmm!’”
