NBA: Glen “Big Baby” Davis Completely Trashes Doc Rivers As A Head Coach

Davis spoke with Chris Broussard on the “In The Zone” podcast where referred to Rivers as “Lucky as hell”, in regards to landing the big 3 of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen to carry him to a championship.

Austin Rivers earned new-found respect after showing out in the playoffs earlier this year.  The Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks were all at his door.  He had the option to leave and get more minutes and more money with a new team.  Instead, he opted to stay and sign a three-year, $35 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, the team his dad Doc Rivers is the president and coach of, but Austin says that doesn’t mean he has it easier there.

While many think the Los Angeles Clippers have no chance against the Golden State Warriors, Clippers coach Doc Rivers says they can go up against anybody and they don’t see a gap between them and the Warriors.  Rivers was the coach of one of the earlier superteams, the Boston Celtics; Paul Pierce was a part of that Celtics Big 3 along with Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.  Now Pierce says the Clippers are a superteam as well.


NBA: Doc Rivers: Clippers ‘Can Play with Anybody & Don’t Feel There’s a Gap’ With Warriors

The Los Angeles Clippers have been able to overcome being the little brothers thanks to the fall of the Los Angeles Lakers, but they haven’t been able to overcome their main rival in the league, the Golden State Warriors.  Not only did the Warriors set an NBA record going 73-9 last season, they also picked up the prize of free agency, Kevin Durant, whom the Clippers also met with and vied for.  Despite never getting past the second round in the playoffs, coach Doc Rivers has no doubt they can go toe-to-toe with the Western Conference champs.
