Slowly but surely, the Western conference is getting a new rivalry. It sounds crazy to use the word rivalry with the Clippers and Warriors given their terrible history in the NBA, but times have changed. These two teams are now part of a small group that can legitimately win the conference, and with success come enemies. The past couple games between these two have been very chippy and physical and last night was no difference. After a couple small scuffles broke out, including one when the game was over, Clippers star Blake Griffin said the Warriors are “Cowardly” for the way they played that led to him being ejected. NBA: Doc Rivers Says Rift Between Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierce Will Be Fixed
It’s no secret that there’s a rift between Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. When Allen chose to join the Miami Heat rather than re-sign with the Boston Celtics, Garnett and Pierce considered him a traitor. Since then Garnett and Pierce have been traded to the Brooklyn Nets and coach Doc Rivers left to coach the LA Clippers but there’s still tension amongst them. It’s something Rivers would like to end and is willing to help if he has to.
NBA: Doc Rivers Responds To Lebron!! Defends Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierce
Seems like this mini-feud just won’t quit. After Lebron called out Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierce for the way they left Boston, Garnett fired back last week by telling Lebron to “worry about his own team“. KG was right, but Lebron also had a point, especially after the way Pierce and KG attacked Ray Allen for leaving Boston to go to Miami. NBA: Doc Rivers Didn’t Want Clippers to Trade DeAndre Jordan For Kevin Garnett
During the numerous reports and attempts to work out a deal between the Celtics and Clippers there was a side deal that would bring Kevin Garnett to the Clippers to join Doc Rivers and send DeAndre Jordan to the Celtics. The deal was nixed due to league rules about multiple consecutive trades between two teams. Well it turns out Doc was adamant about keeping DeAndre Jordan anyways and didn’t want the deal to happen.
