AUDIO: Ray J Speaks To @BlackRicanJew On Hot 97 About KimYe Diss “I Hit It First”

Over the weekend, Ray J really rocked the boat when he released a new track, “I Hit It First,” clearly taking aim at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Today he called into the Hot 97 morning show with Ciph, Rosenberg, K. Foxx and Ebro, and denied that the song has anything to do with KimYe, and that the media is making it more than what it is. Yeaaaah, right! Listen up below.

Earlier today, A$AP Rocky stopped by Hot 97 to hold an in-studio listening session of his debut album Long.Live.A$AP (in stores today) with Angie Martinez and some fans. Karlie Hustle just posted this hilarious pic in between recording with Ang, Ebro and Rock. What do you think Ebro is saying? Leave your ideas in the comments! Marisa Mendez

Audio: Hot 97’s Ebro Speaks On #OccupyHot97 On The Combact Jack Show

In case you missed it, a Twitter exchange between Hot 97′s Program Director Ebro Darden and Rap Radar’s B.Dot about whether or not Hot 97 are doing enough for the New York rap scene. B. Dot made claims that New York radio is not giving unknown rappers enough play saying that NYC radio should be first to break new music from the city. Ebro fired back saying that Hot has broken new NYC artists and the two had a lengthily exchange. Now, Ebro sat down with Combat Jack, after they had a Twitter exchange as well, to talk about turning music down, why he even voiced his opinion to B. Dot, how the Hot 97’s DJs feel about new music and what they play, and more. Ebro said that bottom line it comes down to ratings and if the music is moving, bringing up the first time Enuff played Jay Electronia and how his buzz flopped. Ebro even breaks down how it is decided which songs stay in rotation,  how songs are “tested” to see how well they are liked, the risk he takes by allowing certain shows (Late Night With Peter Rosenberg, the New at 2 with DJ Camilo, the Rush Hour with DJ Enuff, Funk Flex’s show, Kay Slay’s show, etc) play new music that hasn’t fully been tested, and more. Listen to what he said below. Julie A.

(Video) Rosenberg Kicks The Realness On Ebro & Bloggers; Rap Radar’s B. Dot Responds

Let me catch you up to speed if you’re not already. Late last week, blogger/writer B. Dot (who we’ve featured on Social Media Mondays) took to his Twitter to vent frustrations about New York radio. He feels they’re not showing enough underground/unsigned love. Hot 97 head honcho (aka PD) Ebro Darden responded with a debate on the topic. The next morning, he took to Hot 97 morning show airwaves with Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds and Kay Foxx and discussed it further. He feels that the underground guys need to earn their stripes before they’re featured, and also notes that Rosenberg has a Sunday night show dedicated totally to unsigned music. Once B. Dot saw that, he replied with a post. This morning, Rosenberg kicked the realness on the topic. Watch what he said, and see B. Dot’s reply below. Where do you fall on this topic? Marisa Mendez

(Photos) Beyonce & Jay-Z Hit Uptown NY Hotspot La Marina; Liquor Store On Dyckman

La Marina has been uptown Manhattan’s little secret for some time, but this summer, it really became the “it” spot. Celebs, high profile ballers, models and more all spent their summer at the outdoor lounge, enjoying the weather, the view and of course, the drinks! The doors would shut down so early on weekend nights because it’d get packed to capacity within just a couple hours and though this year’s outdoor weather is coming to a close, the flyest couple on the planet definitely just set the tone for next year. Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce stopped by to promote Jay’s new liquor D’usse, and Swizz Beatz, Memphis Bleek and even Hot 97 PD Ebro were all in the building as well. I’m not sure whether it was before or after, but Jay also stopped by a local liquor store, perhaps to make sure they were holding his product? Check out the pics below! Marisa Mendez
