Soccer: FIFA Elects Gianni Infantino As New President Following Corruption Scandal

Gianni Infantino was just elected as the ninth ever FIFA president after winning on the second ballot. He replaces Sepp Blatter who in some ways stepped down last year after a huge corruption scandal, yet he continued to consider himself the president.

Through an airline mishap, Chad Johnson ended up in Richmond, and as soon as the wheels hit the runway, he was trying to beat somebody in FIFA 15. He tweeted out the challenge and accepted the offer from a random fan who tweeted back with his address to come play.

Amidst the corruption and bribery charges surrounding FIFA, Sepp Blatter is resigning as president.  British comedian Simon Brodkin ran on stage as Blatter was about to give a press conference and tossed a ton of dollar bills at the disgraced FIFA president and claimed to represent the “North Korea 2026” World Cup bid.

Sports: U.S. Indicts World Soccer Officials in Alleged $150 Million FIFA Bribery Scandal

The world collectively said FINALLY! The Justice Department unsealed a 47 count indictment early Wednesday charging 14 world soccer figures, including officials of FIFA, with racketeering, bribery, money laundering and fraud. Four of those accused, including two sports marketing companies, have already pleaded guilty and are likely to be cooperating.
