NBA: John Wall Fined $15,000 For Complaining About Refs

Wizards guard John Wall is a little lighter in the wallet today after being fined $15,000 by the NBA. It is a very petty fine because all he did was complain about the officials, but he didn’t do it in a disrespectful way. After a loss to the Bobcats he said “I ain’t touch him. All he did is scream,” Wall said. “Ref gave him a call all night because he was screaming. … I think they made some unfortunate calls plenty of times.” He was referring to a call that was made against him while guard Kemba Walker. He also added “Plenty of times I drove to the basket. I think I should have been to the line plenty more.” The NBA needs to realize players are allowed to complain about ref calls. Officials are not perfect and as long as a players are not being disrespectful they should be allowed to voice their opinion.

(Video) NBA: Fair Or Foul? Jameer Nelson Fined $15K For This Dance??

Pro sports have become way too serious with how they treat the players. At the end of the day sports are a game and you are supposed to be able to enjoy yourself while playing a game at some point. After Jameer Nelson hit a game tying shot against the Bulls, he went down court doing what can only be described as the “big balls dance” lol. The NBA didn’t like that and hit him in the wallet for $15K. Hit the jump for the video and decide yourself if the fine was deserved.

(Audio) NBA: Uh-Oh, Zach Randolph Goes IN On Refs After Loss To Rockets!

It has been a tough season for the Grizzlies so far. At 12-16, they are doing much worse than expected and with the Western conference being packed with good teams, the Grizzlies need every win they can get. After blowing a big lead in the 4th quarter against the Rockets last night, big man Zach Randolph went in on how the refs called the game and blamed them 100% for the loss. The Rockets shot 20 more free throws than Memphis which may mean he has a point. Hit the jump for the audio. I am sure he can expect a fine soon.

(Video) NBA: Paul Pierce Fined $15K For Clotheslining George Hill

The NBA announced Tuesday that Nets forward Paul Pierce has been fined $15,000 for “making excessive and unnecessary contact” when he clotheslined Pacers guard George Hill during Brooklyn’s 103-86 home loss to Indiana on Monday.

(Video) NBA: Nets Coach Jason Kidd Fined $50,000 For This “Accident”!

Jason Kidd was always a very smart player. When he got older and wasn’t as fast as the younger guys he used his brain even more to gain advantages. Now as coach of the Nets, he tried to use quick thinking again, but the NBA wasn’t buying it. Kidd was fined $50,000 yesterday for what they deemed purposely spilling his drink on the court to stop the clock to setup a final play against the Lakers. The Nets had no more timeouts left and coach needed a way to draw up a final play for the win. The video appears to show coach telling Tyshawn Taylor to “hit me” while Taylor walked near the Nets bench. Kidd denied it saying, “Cup slipped out of my hand while I was getting Ty,” Kidd said of “Cupgate.” “Sweaty palms. I was never good with the ball. In the heat of the battle, you’re trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the cup fell out of my hand.” When he says he was never good with the ball you know he is mocking the situation because he was one of the best point guard’s of all time. It was a nice try Kidd, but $50,000 is still $50,000. Hit the jump for the video for those who have not seen it.

NBA: Knicks Coach Mike Woodson Fined $25,000 For Speaking About Melo & Refs!

Mike Woodson has his player’s backs, but it will cost him in his paycheck. Woodson was fined $25,000 for speaking about the treatment his star player Carmelo Anthony is getting from the refs. In an interview Thursday on ESPN New York 98.7 FM’s “The Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco Show,” Woodson said that Carmelo Anthony isn’t getting “superstar” calls. “Absolutely. And I’m not going to shy away from that, either. I think Melo gets hit more than ever,” Woodson said in his weekly radio spot.”I’ve been at this thing 30 years, and sometimes I’m starting to wonder what’s a foul and what’s not a foul.” The criticism came after the Knicks lost to the Pacers, in which a game Carmelo was clearly hit multiple times during the game and was getting no calls. He does have a point though. It is ashame the NBA can fine a coach for speaking his opinion. He never trashed the refs, just said he did not agree with the way they were calling the game. You have to love a coach that will stand up for his guys.

(Video) NFL: Ray Lewis Wants To Do WHAT With His Black Card?

We all know Ray Lewis can sometimes be a little too dramatic once he gets on a roll about something. Monday night was no exception, but at least I can understand where he is coming from this time. Lewis was very upset with the possible fine that 49ers player Ahmad Brooks might receive for his hit on Saints QB Drew Brees on Sunday. For those who did not see the hit, hit the jump for the video. It was clearly a clean hit, but in the new age of the “soft” NFL, a personal foul was called and eventually helped the Saints win that game. Lewis offered to pay half of whatever fine Brooks may wind up facing. Hit the jump for more.
