The Pinkprint is Nicki Minaj’s favorite body of work to date, and it has been getting stellar reviews across the board as well. Unlike J. Cole and his surprise album, Nicki has been promoting this one for a while now, with multiple hits on the radio, sexy music videos, television appearances, magazine covers and the like. So, how will it stand on the charts? Interestingly enough, despite the vast difference in promo, first week sales predictions for The Pinkprint pale in comparison for the numbers that Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive has done. According to HDD, after being released on Monday, The Pinkprint is currently on track for a number one debut next week with a predicted 170-180k SPS. (If you’ll recall, SPS stands for sales plus streaming – Billboard’s new methodology for calculating their numbers.) Cole, on the other hand, has come in at number one this week with a whopping 375k SPS sold of 2014 Forest Hills Drive. That’s insane! What do you think of the numbers?
