Floods In Ghana Has Left Ten People Dead

Four days of constant heavy rain has left ten people dead in Ghana. The streets of Accra have been left under water after the torrential downpours caused widespread flooding earlier this week. The nation’s capital was hit with 185mm or rain and it was more than what they expected for the entire month of June. This is the wettest month of the year with an average rainfall of 178mm.

A water main break on Sunset Boulevard, on the campus of UCLA, has led to a disaster scene in Los Angeles.  Many parts of the campus, including the soccer field and the newly renovated Pauley Pavilion, have been pounded by a spate of water from the broken main that relentlessly spewed more than a million gallons into the surrounding areas.


Flooding In Alberta Forces 75,000 To Evacuate!!

About 75,000 people were evacuated from Calgary, Alberta, after unusually heavy flooding made its way into the city, the center of Canada’s oil and gas industry, beginning late Thursday into Friday. Hit the Jump.


Hurricane Issac Update!!!

Hurricane Issac has been downgraded to a tropical storm due to its slow moving pace. However, New Orleans still needs to be ready for periods of heavy rain and winds into Friday. UN To Help Pakistan Flood Victims

The United Nations has announced that they will be helping victims of the Pakistan flood. The flooding has left 200,000 people homeless. The floods began in August after monsoon rains hit Pakistan. Read more after the jump. @Julie1205

Wow,  it is extremely saddening to see the conditions of these places– especially the ones that hit so close to home. As the flash floods continue, hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate and leave their homes and personal belongings behind in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. (The flooding has been in most of these places since Irene hit almost 2 weeks ago!!) Counting my blessings that my home and family are okay and sending my prayers to the families and people deeply effected by this mess!
