(Video/Photo) NBA: Lebron Randomly Decided He Needed To Practice Free Throws Outside At Night

Lebron didn’t get to be the best player in the world by being lazy. Apparently when the King feels he needs to put in work, the time of day doesn’t matter and neither does the venue. Late last night, Bron went outside and literally just practiced shooting free throws. Since that is one part of his game that could improve he figured there was no time like the present.

(Video) NBA: Magic Rookie Elfrid Payton Airballs Two Free Throws in a Row

Orlando Magic rookie Elfrid Payton has a lot going for him. He’s fearless, he’s quick, he’s a relentless defender, he can get to the basket, he can find open looks for his teammates. The Magic should be happy to have him.  His shot, though, needs some work. Payton is shooting 38 percent from the field this season.  Less impressive, he is shooting 49 percent from the free throw line. Fifteen feet away and unguarded, he still hits less than half his shots.  It was worse than that Monday night in Los Angeles, where Elfrid Payton airballs two free throws back-to-back. That’s Shaq/Dwight Howard like. It’s a little disturbing for a point guard to be doing that.

NBA: No More Free Throws? New Possible Rule Changes Could Eventually Lead To It

The NBA wants to speed up the pace of it’s game and it is exploring ways to do so. One of these proposals is to slightly do away with free throws, which would reduce the amount of time a game takes overall. Every trip to the foul line could be for only one free throw from now on, regardless of reason. The fouled shooter would take one foul shot, worth two points. This rule, if instituted, would shave an estimated five minutes off of game time. New commissioner Adam Silver has been looking to make his own mark on the league so do not be surprised if this change becomes reality.

(PHOTO) NBA: KD Couldn’t Watch Westbrook Shoot Potential Game-Winning FTs, So Here’s What He Did!

At a first glance the above pic may not seem like anything special, but you really gotta look at it.  This is great in case you missed it.  Last night Kevin Durant couldn’t bear to watch as Russell Westbrook shot potential game-winning free throws — so what did he do?!  He sat down backwards as Westbrook made the shots … and yes Westbrook hit all of them.  Gotta love it!

NBA:(Video) Jeopardy Makes Fun Of Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard can’t escape his free throw shooting. Even the TV show Jeopardy is now getting into it. We all know how very specific the answers need to be on that show so the fact Dwight was mentioned has to make you think. The question was in regards to the “path of a projectile” which is compared to the way Dwight shoots towards the rim. I thought this was pretty funny. Check it after the jump.

NBA: Dwight Howard Doesn’t Want Anymore Free Throw Advice

Everyone knows about Dwight Howard’s free throw woes.  His free throw percentage is at a lowly 46.9% and many teams of course picked up on it and gone with the “Hack-a-Howard” route choosing to foul and send him to the line rather than allow an easy dunk or layup.  Because of this issue  he’s been offered advice and it has been talked about endlessly; he’s finally tired.  Read more after the jump.
