Monta Ellis has certainly looked like a much better player since he joined the Dallas Mavericks. In fact, it’s the second game in a row where Ellis helped the Mavericks win. During the game against the Bulls, Ellis forced a foolish foul on Kirk Hinrich then hit three free throws to send the game to overtime where the Mavericks eventually won. The New York Knicks lost to the Utah Jazz Friday night. It was their seventh loss in a row, and second loss in a row with a play that involved J.R. Smith. In the Knicks game against the Orlando Magic they lost after Smith attempted a game-winning three that didn’t even hit the rim. On Friday night the game was close yet again. This time Carmelo Anthony hit a three-pointer that tied the game up with 2 seconds left. Trey Burke hit a stepback, buzzerbeating game-winner leaving his defender, J.R. Smith with the struggle face that swept through Twitter.

The Charlotte Hornets were down by as much as 24 points and put on an incredible comeback. The Milwaukee Bucks had a 100-97 lead with about 7 seconds left when Kemba Walker raced down the court and hit a long three to force overtime. With the game tied, about 17 seconds left and 11 seconds on the shot clock Walker did his magic again. Racing the clock Walker hit another jumper to give the Hornets the 108-106 win over the Bucks. Hornets owner Michael Jordan was just as excited as the fans.

In case you missed it, Jimmy Butler hit a clutch game wining three pointer at the buzzer last night to give the Bulls a victory over the Atlanta Hawks. It is a preseason game so most people can care less, but one of Butler’s biggest fans and friends, Mark Wahlberg was watching and was doing some drinking at the same time. The video is funny cause it is obvious Mark has probably had the bottle for a while and he sounds funny but still it is great to have famous, somewhat drunk friends if you are Butler.

After last night I’m sure everyone would sign up for a Thunder vs. Warriors playoff series. The game was so exciting and competitive, the two teams needed overtime to decide the winner. Though the extra basketball wasn’t pretty, the final play was simply amazing. Serge Ibaka missed a jumper from about 15 feet out, Westbrook got a hand on the rebound, Thabo Sefolosha saved the ball from going out of bounds, where it ended up back in Westbrook’s hands who shot and sunk a corner three giving the Thunder the 113-112 overtime win.
