#MusicStillMatters New Music: Wale – Groundhog Day (Poem)

You may remember Wale’s “Groundhog Day”, released back in December, which served as a response to J. Cole’s “False Prophets”. The MMG rapper decided to take the track and create an extended spoken word version.

Wale released “Groundhog Day” as a response to J. Cole’s “False Prophets” in which Cole spoke about Wale being too bitter and concerned about unimportant people’s views to see his own blessings. The MMG rapper took the song and extended it to 8 minutes along with dropping an official video. Check it out after the jump!

Groundhog Day 2015: And The Verdict Is…

Though his predictions are usually always off, Punxsutawney Phil emerged this morning in Punxsutawney, PA for the 129th celebration of Groundhog Day and saw his shadow, promising six more weeks of winter. The famous furball’s “forecast” was announced just before 7:30 a.m. According to an old German legend, if a groundhog sees his shadow on the 2nd of February, winter will last another six weeks. If not, spring comes early. Myself and my fellow NY/NJ residents were certainly wishing for the latter this morning, particularly because we were watching snow fall from the sky, messing up our commute! I know you’re bummed about the 6 more weeks, but we’ll make up for it by watching highlights of one of the great movies ever – the 1993 cult-classic Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Hit the jump!

Early Spring Or 6 More Weeks Of Winter? Find Out What The Groundhog Predicted

Happy Groundhog’s Day! My favorite part about today is watching the movie, Groundhog Day, but some people really take into consideration if the groundhog sees his shadow or not. According to folklore, if the groundhog comes out of his burrow and catches a glimpse of his shadow (which would frighten him), we will have six more weeks of winter. If the groundhog does not notice his shadow, we get an early spring! Punxsutawney, Pennslyvania has been predicting the weather this was since 1887 and Punxsutawney Phil is the most famous weather predicting groundhogs despite the emergence of Staten Island Chuck and Atlanta’s “General Beauregard Lee.” Find out what Phil predicted below.

Happy Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil Makes His Prediction!

Did the groundhog see his shadow this morning? If he did, that’s 6 more weeks of winter for us. As mild as it’s been though, I don’t know if that’s half bad! Find out the verdict below. Marisa Mendez
