(Photos) NBA: Fans Upset James Harden Attended Drake Concert Night Before Elimination Game

Tonight the Golden State Warriors will play the Houston Rockets for game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.  The Warriors have a 3-0 lead and a win tonight would put them in the NBA Finals and eliminate the Rockets.  The big game isn’t the only thing happening in Houston.  Drake also kicked off his second annual Houston Appreciation Weekend (#HAW) and Harden decided to attend the concert.  The photo of Harden backstage at the concert caused a bit of a ruckus with people upset he was out last night when he has a big game tonight.  Many claimed that he isn’t focused.

The Lineup For Drake’s Second Annual Houston Appreciation Weekend Revealed

After announcing his second annual Houston Appreciation Weekend last week with very little notice (as it goes down this weekend,) Drake last night revealed the lineup of events he has planned…and it’s pretty clear now why he chose these dates. Aside from the obvious fun of Memorial Day festivities, Drizzy’s Jungle Tour was already set to roll through H-Town on Sunday, so it was able to be bundled into the weekend of events as the grand finale. Makes sense! HAW 2 kicks off tomorrow (Thursday) with a Bun B tribute event, followed by a Future concert. Throughout the weekend, there will be a celebrity softball game, a pool party, a club night with Fetty Wap and more. Check out the full lineup in the gallery. Tickets available for the game here.

(Video) First Time For Everything: Drake Puffs That La On Stage With Wiz Khalifa At #HAW

Drake put on a helluva show in Houston over the weekend as part of his first annual ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend,’ bringing out stars like Big Sean, YG and Wiz Khalifa to assist in performing some of his biggest hits. When the latter appeared on stage, he encouraged Drizzy to spark one up – something that’s quite common at a Wiz show, but never before done at a Drake show! There’s a first time for everything, clearly, as Drake shrugged with an unapologetic “f*ck it”, grabbed the joint and puffed away. Check out the video below. Wonder if we’ll be seeing more of this at future shows, like perhaps on the ‘Drake vs. Wayne’ tour?

Drake Releases A LITTLE More Details About ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’

After simply announcing back in March that ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’ would be coming soon, Drake has slowly but surely revealed more details about the event…though we still don’t know all that much. A month after the original announcement, Drizzy revealed that it’d be going down June 13th to 15th, and now a month after THAT announcement, we have a little more information. Taking to Twitter last night with the news, Drake announced that he will kick off the 3-day event with a performance at Warehouse Live. Check out the tweet in the gallery. Hopefully we get the full itinerary soon!

Drake Announces Dates For ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’

Last month, Drake took to Instagram to reveal ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’ with no further details, adding he’d announce the dates for the event in the near future. A month later, Drizzy has delivered. H-Town will be ablaze June 13-15th, though we still don’t know with who or what they’ll be doing. With Drake involved though, you know it’s going to be crazy! The Young Money superstar will follow HAW up with his 5th annual OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto, going down the first weekend of August. More info and tickets for that one here.

Drake Announces ‘Houston Appreciation Weekend’

Drake has always had a deep appreciation for Houston, having lived there for a period of time before becoming a household name. In fact, it’s the city he met the man that would go on to give him the platform to change his life – Lil Wayne – and he pays homage to that exact day on the DJ Screw-sampled “November 18th” on So Far Gone. I mean, he even has an “H” tatted on his shoulder for the city! It’s quite the no-brainer then that Drizzy would come up with a way to celebrate his second home, taking to his Instagram to announce “Houston Appreciation Weekend” with the above image. He did not give further details, but added that he’d be announcing the dates soon. I’m sure the lineup will come soon as well, that will undoubtedly include his previous collaborator Bun B, as well as Paul Wall, Slim Thug and Trae Tha Truth. Who else do you think Drizzy will include…and do you think it will interfere with Trae’s annual ‘Trae Dae’ event?
