Most Major Subway Lines Are Back Up In NYC

Since Hurricane Sandy all means of transportation have been down. As of today almost all major lines are back up in NYC. Workers were doing everything to make sure that the subway lines were clean and ready to move. “Trains started picking up passengers again Saturday morning along the entire 4,5,6 and 7 lines, officials said. Full service will return later Saturday to the D, F, J and M lines” Some of the subways were flooded and had to be completely drained before letting anyone inside. FunkFlex


NBA: Dwyane Wade Donating Salary From Knicks/Heat Game To Charity

Dwayne Wade was under fire for a tweet he made yesterday that ended up being a complete misunderstanding.  Now he’s even doing something about it.  I applaud Wade for this.  It’s always great to see celebs/athletes giving back! Wade said Friday’s Heat-Knicks game at Madison Square Garden in storm-ravaged New York City should have been postponed, and he told USA TODAY Sports he will donate his salary from the game to charity. Sports: NFL & NBA Each To Donate $1M For Hurricane Sandy Relief

The NFL and its players’ union and the NBA and its players’ union each will donate $1 million to the American Red Cross and other organizations to help in the recovery efforts in the Northeast after Hurricane Sandy. GameTimeGirl

Seaside Heights, NJ was one of the towns most devastated by Hurricane Sandy, with a majority of its iconic boardwalk completely wiped out and homes rendered unlivable. Though us New Jersey natives have very fond memories of Seaside dating back to childhood, those not in the tri-state area likely are only familiar with the Jersey locale thanks to MTV’s Jersey Shore. Hurricane Sandy caused BILLIONS of dollars in damage to a major chunk of the east coast, with New York and New Jersey getting it the worst. Luckily, we are receiving aide from ALL over, with even President Obama making our safety and rebuilding a priority. Now, some of the biggest stars from the impacted states are banding together for a relief telethon, Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together. The special will feature Jersey’s Bon Jovi, Staten Island, NY-born/PA bred Christina Aguilera, Long Island, NY’s Billy Joel and many more. The show, hosted by Today’s Matt Lauer, will air on NBC, Bravo, CNBC, E!, G4, MSNBC, Style, Syfy and USA, and will be streamed live on NBC.com, from 8 to 9pm this Friday.
