President Obama Addresses Hurricane Sandy; Not Worried About It Affecting The Election

With Hurricane Sandy increasing in intensity and coming toward us at 18mph, (landfall expected some time this evening), President Obama took the stand to issue a statement and answer just one question about what they’re calling the “Perfect Storm.” When asked if he’s worried about this affecting the election, he calmly responded his only worry right now is saving lives and ensuring the safety of the millions that will be affected by the second largest recorded storm in history. Tech Talk News: T-Mobile Cancels Mobile Event Today

Following in the footsteps of Google T-mobile has gone out and also cancel their mobile event (no surprise here). Yesterday T-Mobile emailed attendees about the cancellation. No announcement on when they will reshuedule the event but stay tuned.  Hurricane Sandy is hurting the tech events this week, hopefully company’s will no longer have events during hurricane season. Tech Talk News: Google Cancels Announcement Due To Hurricane Sandy

In case you were living under a rock, Google decided to cancel their announcement today due to hurricane Sandy.  Google says they will resume with their announcements this Wednesday. Governor Chris Christie Addresses Hurricane Sandy Preparations In NJ

Governor Chris Christie just addressed the State of New Jersey to talk about the steps he has taken in preparation for Hurricane Sandy. Christie said that he has spoken to President Obama personally in-regards to FEMA and other emergency relief services. Hurricane Sandy is expected to touch down on land somewhere between Atlantic City and Toms River causing NJ to probably face the most damage on the East Coast. Election 2012: Did You Know Romney Wants To Cut Disaster Relief Agencies Like FEMA

In light of the preparation for Hurricane Sandy, I figured now would be a good time to inform you that if Mitt Romney because President, he plans on cutting disaster relief agencies like FEMA which are crucial in times like these. FEMA offers relief in every major emergency situation including Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Irene, and Sandy if we should need it. If Mitt becomes President, he plans on leaving only 4% of the budget to disaster relief and in 2011 he called leaving more than that percent to disaster relief “immoral.” Read more below. Julie A.
