(Video Interview) Schoolboy Q Wishes He Never Signed To a Major Label

ScHoolboy recently sat down with Hartford’s Hot 93.7 for an interview and admitted that he wasn’t very happy with his major label status. He clarified that there are no harsh feelings towards Interscope. “I already did wrong by signing a rap contract,” he said. “I’m not talking about TDE, but how we ventured off with the majors. I wish we would have still stayed indie, I don’t care about being on like 1,000 radios.” He recently released his album Oxymoron which he also stated he wished he could of done it on a smaller scale. As far as the fans waiting on new music from TDE, possibly a mixtape, ScHoolboy also advised that no one hold their breathe for that. “Everything we drop is an album– we don’t play that mixtape game. We put all our time and effort into one project, to make it great instead of doing songs for a tape.” As far as his signature accessory, the bucket hat, ScHoolboy Q mentioned how he would seriously consider doing a line of hats, and of course, do it independently. “There’s so many bucket hat companies offering me so much money, but I’d rather do it myself. If you wanted to give me that much money, I know I could make that much money on my own.” He’s definitely got the right idea there!
