Auto Talk: Toyota to stop importing Camry models from Japan

Toyota is allowing its North American teams a bit more freedom to build cars that best suit the market in which they work. Earlier in the year, Toyota announced that American designers would be more keyed in to model development, and now comes word that the automaker will no longer be importing Japanese-built Camry sedans into our market. Japanese Typhoon Leaves At Least 20 Dead, 50 Missing

Shelter Dogs Training To Become Rescue Dogs

The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation has decided to start using dogs in shelters as part of their rescue teams. After natural disasters such as the Haiti and Japan earthquakes, tornadoes in Missouri, and attacks such as 9/11 the NDSDF feels that more dogs can help save more lives. Once the dogs living in shelters are trained they will be “on-call” so to speak in case disaster strikes. Read more after the jump. @Julie1205

(Video) NBA: Watch Dwight Howard’s Dunk on Giraffe in Japan

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl Dwight Howard made a stop at Roppongi Hills — a Tokyo shopping mall — on a recent promotional tour through Japan, and while there, the former dunk contest champion and three-time defensive player of the year dunked on a giraffe. OK, so it wasn’t a real giraffe, but the dunk still made for a humorous scene as the 6-foot-11 Howard sized up the 12-foot giraffe statue — which had a basketball hoop coming out of its neck — hyped up the crowd, and then elevated for a one-handed jam.
