Republican Chris Christie Said WHAT About The Republican Party?!

Being a democrat from New Jersey, Governor Chris Christie hasn’t exactly been my favorite person in the past few years, but I’m starting to like him a little bit more post Hurricane Sandy. During the hurricane, Christie gained a lot of respect from me and other democrats for his swift action and the way he handled the situation. Now he’s gaining even more of my respect for fighting on behalf of those still effected by the storm and taking a stand against his own Republican party. If you didn’t think Republicans were mad at him for his praise of President Obama post Sandy and right before the election, you’re certainly going to see how mad they get about his remarks. He might have just hung himself when it comes to running for President, which he has expressed in the past, with these remarks. As you may know, the Republicans in Congress are a big reason why the relief bill for Hurricane Sandy victims has not been signed or even voted on. During a recent statement Christie brought up the fact that it has been 65 long days since NJ/NY/CT have seen relief from the storm despite the fact it only took 10 days for relief post Katrina and 30 days for relief in Florida post Andrew. He also let the Republican Party know why many Americans hate Congress, why some of us feel betrayed by those that “represent” us, and how the party turned it’s back on us. Read more on what he said below.…

$9.7 Billion Approved For The Hurricane Sandy Relief Aid

The House finally approved on the aid, almost two months after the storm and only a day after John Boehner was voted back in office as House Speaker. Boehner being the guy who made the decision to delay the vote earlier this week. “It’s the right step,” said Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, R-N.J., a member of the House Appropriations Committee. This aid with assist in the pay-out of insurance claims for home as well as business owners whose property was wrecked during the storm. People of course are still waiting on claim checks from the storm. “They’re sleeping in rented rooms on cots somewhere, and they’re not happy. They want to get their lives back on track, and it’s cold outside. They see no prospect of relief,” said Rep. Frank LoBiondo, R-N.J., whose district includes Atlantic City. Let’s hope now that people can get their lives back to normal now that this has been approved. Drop down bottom for more. JaaiR (JR)
