After 12 years, 170 wins and 2 Super Bowl wins with the New York Giants, coach Tom Coughlin stepped down.  On Tuesday he held a press conference bidding farewell in true Coughlin fashion.

Tom Coughlin got the news this week that the Giants want him back for another season, despite now three straight years of missing the playoffs. Now admittedly injuries and disappointing production from players has caused some of the woes so you can’t blame it all on coaching, but at the end of the day the blame for losses and praise for wins comes with the job. It is always great to have a supportive owner, but John Mara said he almost fired everyone after the Giants lost to the Jaguars earlier this season.

NFL: Giants CEO John Mara says there will be no ticket payments during lockout

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl New York Giants president and CEO John Mara remains optimistic that there will be an NFL season in 2011. But, to keep Giants fans at ease, he said on Wednesday that season-ticket holders won’t have to make payments until the lockout ends. Speaking on WFAN-AM in New York, Mara told listeners that a letter will go out to season-ticket holders next week that will give them the option of paying in full by May 1, or waiting until there is a new collective bargaining agreement in place with the players.
