NBA: John Wall Says Pride & Ego Makes Players Voting on MVP a Bad Idea

Some people (including the players) have a problem with the media choosing the winners of major awards such as MVP.  The players feel some of them don’t have the best relationship with the media, and that they play against each other each night so they would have a better idea of which player is better.  That makes sense, so the NBA players association announced on Tuesday that they were going to host a NBAPA Players Choice Awards at Las Vegas Summer League this year. The awards would include MVP and be voted on by players.  While players like Kevin Durant and LeBron James are all for it, John Wall isn’t and explained the problem with players voting amongst themselves.

(Video) NBA: LOL Barack Obama Trash Talks Paul Pierce After Hitting Game Winner in Pickup

Monday was the annual White House Easter Egg Roll event and a few basketball players were on hand thanks to NBA Cares, including newly elected Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo and Washington Wizards John Wall and Paul Pierce.  Everyone knows the President loves basketball so with a few players on hand, there was a pickup game.  “The Truth” got a taste of his own medicine as Barack Obama trash talks Paul Pierce after hitting game winner.

NCAAB: John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins Say Their 2010 Kentucky Team is Better Than This Year’s Undefeated Team

This year’s Kentucky team has been unbelievable and of course have kicked off the usual could they beat (insert NBA lottery team here).  Led by Karl-Anthony Towns, Willie Cauley-Stein, and Devin Booker — all likely top 20 picks in the June NBA Draft — this year’s Kentucky squad enters the NCAA Tournament undefeated at 34-0. If their season ends with this team 40-0 and hoisting up the national championship trophy, they will have to be discussed with the great teams of all time in college hoops. And the greatest teams in Kentucky history, certainly.  Although, ask John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins and they say their 2010 Kentucky team was better.

(Video) NBA: Hustle! John Wall Leaps Over Multiple Rows to Recover Loose Ball!

John Wall has two very admirable qualities, athleticism and hustle.  During the fourth quarter the Wizards were up 7 over the Trail Blazers with under 40 seconds left but still Wall went hard to try and recover a loose ball.  Wall jumped over four rows and dove again to try and avoid landing on two young children.

NBA: John Wall Calls Out The Memphis Grizzlies After The Wizards Beat Them Down

The Memphis Grizzlies came into D.C. last night and John Wall was prepared for a battle. Instead he barely got a game as the Grizzlies sat most of their star players. The Wizards wound up winning the game in blowout fashion, 107-87. You might think most players would be happy with an easy win, but it sounds like it pissed Wall off.

(Video) NBA: John Wall on Why He’s Single: “I’m not ready to be faithful”

During All-Star weekend in New York City, John Wall stopped by Hot 97 and did an interview with Peter Rosenberg.  They touched on a variety of topics during his half-hour interview including RG3, playing at Madison Square Garden, Wall’s relationship with Wale (a “great friend”) and appreciation for Allen Iverson.  One of the topics they discussed was Wall’s love life.  The All-Star was pretty honest and candid in explaining where he’s at right now.
