NFL: Former Cowboys Player Josh Brent Sentenced To 180 Days For Crash That Killed Teammate

Former Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent was sentence this morning to 180 days in jail and 10 years probation for causing the death of his former teammate Jerry Brown. Brent was convicted this past Wednesday of intoxication manslaughter for the December 2012 crash on a suburban Dallas highway that killed Brown, who was a passenger in Brent’s car. Brent could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. Brent by no means seems like a bad person, he just made a bad decision. His alcohol level the night of the crash was 0.18, which is twice more than the legal limit in Texas. The Brown family has been very forgiving of Brent, as they have known him for years, even prior to being teammates with their son in Dallas. This is not the first time Brent was arrested for DWI. He caught a charge for the same thing back in 2009. I sincerely hope he has learned his lesson.

NFL: Ex-Cowboy Josh Brent Found Guilty of Intoxication Manslaughter

This is heartbreaking on so many different levels. Former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter today for a fiery wreck that killed his teammate and close friend, Jerry Brown. More details after the jump…

NFL:(Video) Another NFL Player Sent To Jail…Again!!

And the jackass of the year award goes to….drum roll…………….Josh Brent of the Dallas Cowboys! This dude has got to be the stupidest player in the league. For those who don’t know, Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter last year when he crashed his car as a result of driving drunk. That crash killed his passenger and best friend, Jerry Brown, who at the time was a member of the Cowboys practice squad himself. As part of his bail, all he has to do to remain free until his trial begins is stay away from drugs and alcohol. That is it! Sounds pretty simple right? Well read more after the jump.

NFL:(Video) Cowboys Player About To Head Back To Jail, SMH

I am sorry, but this has to be one of the most ignorant dudes in sports. The only thing Josh Brent of the Dallas Cowboys has to do to stay out of jail is not drink alcohol or smoke marijuana. Literally that is all he has to do to be a free man and this dude doesn’t seem to value his freedom. This is the same man who is currently free on $100,000 bond after being charged with Vehicular Manslaughter back in December. He was driving drunk when he lost control of his car and killed his teammate and long time friend Jerry Brown. Prosecutors are now asking his bond be revoked and he be sent back to prison to await his trial. What is the reason you ask? He failed a drug test for marijuana just a few weeks ago. Under normal circumstances, a player failing a drug test, especially a player like Brent who anyone barely knows, wouldn’t even be a big deal or news. But when your alive and breathing and the team that drafted you has stood behind you, but meanwhile someone is dead as a result of your ignorance, things change. Last month he reportedly failed an alcohol test that tests if he has been drinking before he can start his car. He has to blow into a device that is attached to his ignition before he tries to drive anywhere. According to Brent’s camp, the device had been malfunctioning. But now with the failed drug test, it…

NFL:(Video) SMH, Cowboys Player May Be Headed Back To Jail Permanently

I hope this isn’t true, because if it is, this dude needs to be smacked. Cowboys tackle Josh Brent who is currently free on $100,000 bond after being charged back in December with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his close friend and teammate Jerry Brown, may lose his bond as early as today. In the accident that killed his friend, Brent was driving drunk and that was the major factor in the crash. Along with his bond, Brent had a alcohol monitoring device installed in his car by order of the court. Well this week, that device detected alcohol in Brent’s system which is a huge no-no with the terms of his bond. Now according to a source, Brent did not drink any alcohol, and says the device has gone off in the past as well when Brent was not drinking. Sounds sketchy. Brent is due in court this morning regarding this. There is a very good chance he will have his bond revoked and be sent to jail until his trial. I sincerely hope after the death he caused, that he is smart enough to never touch alcohol again. Check out the video after the jump.

NFL: Cowboys Ban Josh Brent From Sideline

There were a lot of mixed reaction on Sunday when Josh Brent (who was charged with intoxication manslaughter in Jerry Brown’s death) was seen on the Cowboys sideline.  Many thought he shouldn’t be part of the team and should be punished, but a lot of teammates did want him there to let him know that they are supporting him. Well now, Josh will not be permitted to be on the Dallas Cowboys’ sideline for the remainder of the season. GameTimeGirl
