This seems to be a subject that just can’t be let go. Controversial lyrics have been around for years, but as soon as someone spits a lyric that the consensus doesn’t agree with, it’s a problem. This time however, Future talks to Power 106 and mentions how he really feels about the impact, Wayne’s lyrics made in the remix of, “Karate Chop.”


Lil Wayne Dropped From Mountain Dew, For Emmitt Till Lyrics Even After Apology

It seems it was just too little too late for Lil Wayne who was dropped from his Mountain Dew deal for a lyric using Emmitt Till’s name. Emmitt Till’s family immediately went up in arms after hearing the line and the backlash even caused Wayne to issue a formal apology. According to the associated press PepsiCo issued a statement saying that Wayne’s “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand,” causing them to cut ties. A publicist for Weezy says the parting was “amicable” and over “creative differences,” to which she concluded, “That’s about all I can tell you at this time.”


Lil Wayne Issues Apology For Emmit Till Lyic

Lil Wayne’s lyrics on Future’s track “Karate Chop” have caused quite the controversy, after the rapper promised to “beat that p#ssy up like, Emmett Till”. The Till family came out recently so outraged over the lyric, that they actually wanted Mountain Dew to drop Wayne as an endorser. In light of the drama, Tune has issued a full apology to the family.
