Let’s give it up for my best friend (in my mind), Katy Perry! The pop star has been named Billboard’s Woman of the Year, and it’s not just because they like cupcakes and candy as much as she does. Ms. Perry has had a stellar, chart-topping, record-breaking career in just the 5 years she’s been on the scene and she’s not showing a single sign of slowing down. (Unless you count John Mayer since he’s kind of like, a step back. That’s neither here nor there, though…) KP has broken records as the only woman to have FIVE singles from ONE album hit number 1 on the charts, she’s sold 48 million tracks in the U.S. alone, holds the record for the most consecutive weeks (69) with at least one title in the Hot 100’s top 10…the list goes on.
