(Photo) RocAWear Sued Over “Hood Love” Shirts

Jay Z and Rocawear have a shirt in stores with the phrase “Hood Love” written on it, but apparently it’s not all love at all. HoodLove LLC, a for-profit company dedicated to improving poverty stricken communities, has filed suit against Hov’s clothing line, saying they’ve owned the trademark since 2006 and the shirts will not only confuse the public, but make money off their name. HoodLove is suing for any profits made from the shirts, and also wants them completely pulled from stores. You think they’ll win this one?

(PHOTO) NBA: Scottie Pippen Takes An L in Court, But His Wife Looks AMAZING in A Bikini Golfing!

It’s not all bad news for Scottie Pippen. He may have took an L against the media, but we here at IFWT try to find the positive in situations. Lol. A federal appeals court judge dismissed Scottie Pippen’s suit against a number of media outlets on the grounds that he failed to make the case that they “falsely or recklessly” published information about his personal finances that wasn’t true.  While yes, that does suck for Pippen – his wife shared a sexy photo of herself practicing her golf swing … in a bikini.  There’s a win for the kid. Photo & details after the jump…

Drake Sued By Stylist For Over $76k Worth Of Unpaid Bills

Wait, wait, wait…Drake has a stylist? They shouldn’t be suing him, he needs to sue them! LOL! A stylist that worked for Drizzy from August – December of 2012 has filed suit against the YMCMB rapper, claiming Drake owes him some big bucks for his consulting services, hotel bills, plane tickets and shopping bills. Michael Raphael says Drake hired him at a monthly rate of $39,583 (JEEZ!), and paid him with no issues from August to November. Something went awry in December, though, and not a cent was given….meanwhile Raphael allegedly spent nearly $40,000 of his own money on shopping and other expenses. Add that to his monthly salary, and he is now suing Drake for $76,490. No word from Drizzy just yet.

Flo’Rida Avoids 6 Figure Lawsuit…With The Help Of Facebook!

Flo Rida was booked as a performer for Australia’s Fat As Butter fest in 2011, but never showed up to do the gig. Promoters sued Flo and his team for breach of contract and damages totaling Australian $417,345 ($377,000), but since they couldn’t properly serve him the papers on the other side of the world, they took a rather interesting route: Facebook! Unfortunately for them, Flo challenged the order and won, with judges declaring that Facebook wasn’t an appropriate channel to serve, because there was no evidence that the artist was even really connected to the page. “The evidence did not establish, other than by mere assertion, that the Facebook page was in fact that of Flo Rida and did not prove that a posting on it was likely to come to his attention in a timely fashion,” the judge said. Damn, looks like the only ones who got “served” in this lawsuit were the ones suing! Ha!

SMH: Intern Sues Bad Boy For Not Being Paid To Answer Phones & Get Coffee

Well here’s one person who won’t be getting much further in the music industry! A former intern at Diddy’s Bad Boy Records has filed suit against the label, claiming she should have been paid for the work she did from January 2012 to May 2012 that includes answering phones, getting lunch and coffee for paid employees, making deliveries and gift-wrapping presents. Wow…so tough. Unfortunately, Rashida Salaam may have a real case because of recent changes in the law regarding unpaid internships (no more free labor for course credit.) She definitely won’t be hired by another company in music, though!
