TLC Speaks On Why Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Was Left Off The “Waterfalls” Re-release

TLC recently re-released their classic song “Waterfalls” for it’s 20th anniversary but replaced Left Eye with a Japanese singer, Namie Amuro. T-Boz and Chili not only angered Lisa’s family, but fans were outraged when the track didn’t even leave Lisa’s verse in the song. Many people wondered why they wouldn’t just omit a verse totally or why re-release the track and now we know why. It turns out that T-Boz and Chili do not own the rights to Left Eye’s raps and were not given clearance to use this one. They also opened up about why they decided to use Namie Amuro. T-Boz also said that Lisa’s family was in fact told about the re-release by the group’s management and that Lisa will never be replaced. Read what they had to say below.

Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes’ Family Is NOT Happy With TLC

In honor of their 20th anniversary, T-Boz and Chili decided to re-record their hit “Waterfalls.” Instead of omitting Left Eye totally or at least keeping her old recording, the ladies decided to replace her. Japanese singer, Namie Amuro, took the place of Left Eye in the re-release and now the Lopes family is NOT happy. I literally just listened to the re-recorded track and I personally think Amuro sounds awful and TLC should have just left Left Eye’s verse in to honor her. Read what Lisa’s sister said about the situation below. RIP, Left Eye!

(Photo) The Game Gets A Tattoo Of WHO?!

Taking a page out of Drake’s book, The Game got a tattoo of a “Dia De Los Muertos” of an artist who is no longer with us on the left side of his ribs. The Compton rapper took to his Instagram to flaunt the picture and to announced that he will be adding a “Dia De Los Muertos” version of Aaliyah on the right side. I wonder what made him pick these two to get a tattoo of? Check out the pic of the tat in the gallery.
