NBA: Phil Jackson Says Heavy Playing Time Contributed to Kobe Bryant’s Injury

If there’s anybody who has the skills and determination to come back from injuries, it’s Kobe Bryant.  At 35-years old, Bryant came back from a torn Achilles and later went out again after suffering a fractured knee.  Still there’s no doubt that Bryant can return to greatness and who would know better than his former coach Phil Jackson.  He also alluded to what caused the injury in the first place.

It was no surprise that the Los Angeles Lakers offered Kobe Bryant a contract extension but the amount of money offered is what threw everyone off.  Of course Bryant accepted the offer and it began a long debate about how the contract was too much and it would negatively affect the Lakers chances of rebuilding like they had planned.  Former Lakers coach Phil Jackson also weighed in on the situation and agreed with the general population.

On Friday night the Lakers played the Celtics in Boston.  Kobe Bryant who won’t return from his knee injury till February was just a spectator last night and it led him to reflect on better times when the Celtics weren’t rebuilding but the great team that took the Lakers to seven games in the 2010 NBA Finals.

Steve Nash (back) hasn’t played in a game in two months, and Kobe Bryant (knee) lasted only six games upon returning from Achilles surgery before fracturing the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee. On Friday, we learned that players could be back on the court by the end of the month.


NBA: Nick Young & Jared Dudley Trade Shots After Clippers Blowout Lakers

The Clippers were once the little brothers in LA but obviously things have changed.  Last night they took on their inner-city rival the Lakers and things got out of hand quickly.  The Clippers dropped 43 points in the first quarter and by the end of the half they had a 70-52 lead over the Lakers.  The Clippers ended up winning 123-87 with 36-point blowout.  Following the game some interesting quotes were released.
