In January 2011 Stones Throw premiered an unreleased track by DOOM and Madlib titled “Avalanche” on their podcast. Ever since the track was premiered fans have been trying to find a high-quality version to know avail. The single has been available on Soundcloud and Youtube but only in the form of low-quality radio rips. After years of waiting, the track finally gets a proper release. Today Rappcats drops an 8-inch Madvillain figure along with an exclusive 7″ vinyl copy of “Avalanche.”

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib – “Piata” [Release Date]

The new project, Piata is on the way, and as far as Freddie Gibbs goes, he’s laying it all on the table. “I will show you my flaws,” he says. “I’ll show you what I’ve done wrong and what I’ve fucked up at. I don’t regret shit, but I’ll show you the things I’m not proud of.” Madlib mentions that his “stuff” has more of a, “human feel, so it might slow down or speed up.” If your not a Doom or Freddie type of rapper, it wouldn’t be for you. The project is slated as, “a gangster Blaxploitation film on wax.” Talk about descriptive. At least we understand who they’re trying to appeal to. Find out when you can grab a copy, after the jump.
