46 years ago today, we lost one of the most influential leaders in the Civil Rights movement that helped paved the way for people of all races to get along and live side-by-side today. On April 4th, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. His legacy will always and forever live on. Watch his legendary “I Have A Dream” speech in honor of his life below. Rest In Peace, MLK!

Although we celebrated his actual birthday, Jan. 16th, today is the day that many get to sit home, and reminisce on the movement made by the late and great, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The activist and civil rights leader spoke for all that didn’t have a chance to be heard, and after almost five decades later, people are still listening. All the while, preaching NON-VIOLENCE! Dr. King’s daughter, Dr. Bernice King, CEO of the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta, wants us all to enjoy the memory of her father by dong one thing…find out what, after the jump.


Thank You: Controversial Martin Luther King Jr. Twerking Party CANCELED Due To Ridiculous Flyer!

After seeing this flyer, I almost lost all hope of the human race. HOWEVER, after word broke that this super disrespectful party has been canceled due to the backlash it received, my faith has been semi-restored. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, MLK was photoshopped onto a party promo flyer wearing a huge chain with an obnoxiously large gold medallion while throwing up the “West Side” hand sign to promote a “twerking party” for the long weekend. Once Dr. King’s family gained word of this blatant disrespect, they were outraged. At least they’ll be able to sleep better at night knowing this party has been SHUT DOWN!


IFWT Remembers MLK On His Birthday!

MLK was born in Atlanta, Georgia. King, both a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist, had a seismic impact on race relations in the United States, beginning in the mid-1950s. Among many efforts, King headed the SCLC. RIP LMK.
