(Audio) There May Be A New Mobb Deep Album On The Way

Mobb Deep fans unite as the duo from Queens readies the release of a new album. While Prodigy and Havoc have worked on their own separate albums – with Prodigy currently working on The Hegelian Dialectic – this will make their ninth studio album together. The yet to be titled piece of work is tentatively slated for a 2016 release. Hit the jump for more.

The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival hosted several, unique events this past weekend, but nothing compared to the main show. The concert brought out some legendary artists as well as some new ones. While rising acts like Lion Babe and YC The Cynic took the stage during the day, major emcees like Mobb Deep, Skyzoo, Charles Hamilton, Freeway, Consequence, and Common rocked the mic until sundown. Last year ESPN used Mobb Deep’s “Survival of the fittest” record off the classic “The Infamous” album to promote their playoff baseball coverage and it was such a hit that this time they had the duo actually remix the song exclusively to be used during the network’s coverage of the Western Conference finals.

In the midst of the 20th anniversary of The Infamous, Mobb Deep has been doing the most to celebrate their breakthrough album. After they reflected on their glory days at the notorious Tunnel parties back in the day, Havoc and Prodigy spit a quick freestyle. Watch the video after the jump!
