(Video) Kendrick Lamar Performs ‘These Walls’ With The National Symphony Orchestra

Tuesday night, (October 20th) Kendrick Lamar made his orchestra debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. The one night only performance featured Kendrick and the National Symphony Orchestra putting on selections of his album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly.’ NSO Pops conductor Steven Reineke opened up prior to the show about what a major honor this is for Hip Hop and the orchestra alike. He said, “It is pretty incredible, this is going to be quite an adventure because you have two very, very different worlds colliding, from a full symphony classical orchestra, with the world of Hip Hop. Kendrick Lamar Will Perform ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ Selections With The National Symphony Orchestra

Congratulations to Kendrick Lamar! The west coast rapper is set to make his orchestra debut in Washington, D.C. next month. According to an announcement made my the National Symphony Orchestra, Kendrick Lamar will perform selections of his latest album, “To Pimp a Butterfly,” with the help of the NSO Pops on October 20th. The performance is one night only and will be directed by Steven Reineke,the principal pops conductor for the orchestra, who is well known for incorporating popular music with classical.
