Google is breaking the bank to get their hands on an old Naval hangar. Google released a statement saying their 60 year lease will see them pay $1.16 billion. They plan on using the hangar for aviation and new robotics technology.

Fleet Week Returns After A Year Of Absence!
In recent years, New York city has hosted an annual celebration called Fleet Week, to celebrate America’s sea services. Due to final budget cuts, the celebration did not happen last year. After being absent for one year, New York city’s fleet week is back in full effect.

Here’s an interesting fact for Black History Month. In February 1944, the Navy commissioned its first African-American officers. This long-hoped-for action represented a major step forward in the status of African-Americans in the Navy and in American society. The twelve commissioned officers, and a warrant officer who received his rank at the same time, came to be known as the “Golden Thirteen.”

The number of sexual assaults in the military has risen up to 50% this year! In 2012, sexual assaults were at 5,000 reports but this year there has been a significant increase – about 45% for the Air Force, 86% for the Marines, 46% for the Navy and 50% for the Army. To read more, click below.
