NBA: Report, Phil Jackson Told Raymond Felton He Will Be Traded

Not much of a surprise here, but according to reports Phil Jackson told Raymond Felton he will be traded from New York this offseason. Phil is new in his role and is trying to put his own mark on the franchise and shape the roster how he wants. NBA: Steve Kerr Reportedly Wants 5-Year, $30 Million Contract

Despite not having any prior head coaching experience, Steve Kerr is a hot commodity around the NBA.  With the Knicks and Warriors ousting Mike Woodson and Mark Jackson, those are reportedly the two teams Kerr is deciding between.  It’s also reported that Kerr is leaning more towards the Knicks and with his asking price that’s where he’s more likely to get his wish.

The New York Knicks are the reportedly the favorites to re-sign Carmelo Anthony since they hired Phil Jackson as the new president of basketball operations and they are the only team that can offer him a five-year, $129 million contract.  Things might become more interesting however with the projection of the new salary cap and the fact that the Knicks failed to reach the playoffs making it the first time Anthony has missed the postseason in his career.

The New York Knicks are preparing to play the Chicago Bulls tonight.  It could have been a pivotal game but with the Atlanta Hawks defeat of the Miami Heat on Saturday night they officially secured the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference eliminating the Knicks from playoff contention.  While doing their pre-game interviews for tonight’s matchup the Knicks lamented over what wrong wrong this season and what their expectations were.
