MLB: Mets Accidently Send Mass Email With GM Sandy Alderson’s Credit Card Info

A New York Mets staffer is in deep trouble after accidently sending out a mass email that included the credit card info of the general manager, Sandy Alderson.  The email included the security code and expiration date.  Luckily it was only sent to the press and not everybody on the Mets mailing list but it was still a pretty big screw up.

A new book written by AJ Mass, the man who was Mr. Met from 1994-1997 said that in 1997 when then President Clinton came to Shea stadium to honor Jackie Robinson, the secret service threatened to kill him if anything went wrong. Apparently they became somewhat suspect of Mr.Met when his head couldn’t fit through a metal detector that was placed on the field. Mr. Met just wanted a photo with the Pres but it never happened. Curtis Granderson caught a fly ball in the right field corner, and as he was about to throw the ball back into the infield, a fan put his hand on Granderson’s back.  Well that ticked Curtis off as he turned around and confronted the Angels fan.

The New York Mets appear to have decided internally that they’d prefer to deal first baseman Ike Davis and stick with Lucas Duda at the position, barring any free agent signings that may fall into their lap to change the situation in Flushing.
