Lil Wayne Updates ‘Carter 5’; Says It’s Done & Wrapped

Lil Wayne’s new installment to his Carter album series ‘Carter 5’ was supposed to come out years ago, but label stalemates between he and Birdman have prevented any such thing. Wayne has certainly voiced his frustration at the lack of effort to put the album out, but in a new interview with New York Times that appeared today, he gives us an update and really raves about how great the album is. NYT: “Is “Tha Carter V” an album that’s finished, or is it constantly evolving as the months and years go by?” Wayne: “It’s done, sitting and wrapped as is. I just listened to it for the first time in months the other day. I had forgotten every single word on it, because I work every day. I popped it in, and I was like, it’s still so much better than everything I’ve ever heard. Not what’s going on right now — everything I’ve ever heard.” Here’s to hoping we get that album soon! Kid Cudi’s New Album Delayed

Bummer for Cudi fans. Cudi took to Twitter earlier in the week to announce his new album “Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin” would be dropping this Friday September 30th. He even noted the complete track list, with the album being a double disk with features from Andre 3000, Pharrell & more. Today though, he tweeted that the album will be unfortunately delayed due to some “minor sample clearances.” He says his label is working hard to get the songs cleared and get the album to fans as soon as possible. He did note though that he would be dropping two singles “Frequency” & “Surfin”, produced by and featuring Pharrell, in the “next 48 hours.” Take a look at Cudi’s tweet from earlier today and be on the lookout for the album to drop soon.

Lil B Reveals He Worked On Frank Ocean’s New Album

In a recent interview with Dazed, the Based God went into some detail about his role in the making of Frank Ocean’s highly anticipated sophomore album “Boys Don’t Cry.” With the botched news from the New York Times of an August 5th release date and the recent false promise of Apple reps confirming it would drop earlier this week, fans are starting to really get impatient. Here’s what Lil B had to say of his role in the making of it though, “Frank Ocean was amazing. He called me to come out and do some stuff for his album, Boys Don’t Cry, that’s coming out. Frank is amazing. He’s a beautiful man with a beautiful voice. He’s a very strong man, a very strong person. Anything that I can do to help him, I will.” When asked when or if he knew of a release date for the album, he said “If Frank releases. Let’s see what Frank releases. Frank has the material.” It sounds like it’s up to Ocean when and how he wants to roll this album out. If you ask me, I’m sticking with that November release date. Stay tuned for more updates.
