Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/30/14 … Frozen Soundtrack Achieves Most Weeks At #1 Since Adele’s ’21’

The soundtrack to Disney’s hit film Frozen just nabbed its eighth [non-consecutive] week at number 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the longest run atop the list since Adele’s 21 had a 24-week run in 2012. With another 161k copies sold this week, the total tally is now at 1.8 million units sold, with 1.5 million of those sold in 2014 alone. Aside from Frozen, YG also remains in the top 10 this week, as well as Pharrell, with debuts from Shakira, Erica Campbell (of Mary Mary) and more. Check out the full list below!


Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/23/14 … Congrats to YG on a #2 Debut!

Damn you, Frozen soundtrack! The new release of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray brought its already chart-topping soundtrack to its highest numbers yet…in its 17th week, at that…moving 202k units and screwing things up for YG! Because of this, YG’s debut, My Krazy Life, missed its opportunity for the number one spot, though coming in at number 2 with 61k sold isn’t too shabby either! While some are saying this number isn’t great – you have to consider the fact that he was ONLY popular regionally up until just a couple of months ago. He delivered an extremely solid and acclaimed project, with two singles selling extremely well, so it’s not like the numbers were strictly because of a fluke, one-hit wonder situation. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/16/14 … Congrats To Young Money On A Top 10 Album!

The numbers are in for last week’s album sales. Last week’s 3 big debuts – Rick Ross, Pharrell and Ashanti – have all slipped in their slots, though they’re still in the top 10 on Billboard, save for Ashanti. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/9/14 … Congrats To Rick Ross & Pharrell At #1 & #2!

The official numbers are in, and it’s a great day for both Rick Ross and Pharrell. Both artists released new projects last week, and they debuted at numbers 1 and 2 on the Billboard charts, respectively! Rozay’s Mastermind nabbed number one with 179k units sold, while Pharrell’s G I R L followed up with 112k. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/2/14 … Congrats To ScHoolboy Q On A #1 Debut!

It was a good week for debuts, as there are 6 brand new albums in the Billboard 200 this week! A big congratulations goes out to ScHoolboy Q, whose major label debut Oxymoron is sitting quite comfortably at number one with 139k units sold since its release last Tuesday. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 2/23/14 … ‘Frozen’ Earns Most Weeks At #1 For Soundtracks Since ‘Titanic’

Disney’s soundtrack to Frozen keeps its reign at number 1 on the Billboard charts this week, becoming its fifth [nonconsecutive] week atop the list. This accolade qualifies the album for the most weeks in the top spot for a soundtrack since Titanic racked up 16 straight weeks at number one in the first half of 1998. Insane!
