‘Straight Outta Compton’ Will Be #1 Again This Weekend…Just Not In Compton

Straight Outta Compton exploded in the box offices last weekend, raking in an unprecedented $60.2 million and landing at number one for its debut. Looks like it wasn’t just beginner’s luck, either, as early forecasts predict they’ll easily take the number one spot again this weekend! The N.W.A. biopic is expected to bring in around $30 million in its second week, as they’ve added an additional 243 theaters in the U.S. to meet exhibitor demand. That brings the total number of theaters to 3,000 now…but zero of them are actually in the city of Compton. And no, it’s not that Compton isn’t supporting their hometown heroes…it’s simply because they don’t actually have a movie theater!

Noisey has a popular segment that they produce called “Back and Forth,” putting together two celebrities and having them interview each other, giving them both the chance to be on the other side of the spectrum for once. This time, they’ve gathered Ice Cube and his newly-famous son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., who stars as dad in the blockbuster hit, Straight Outta Compton. In the clip, the pair discuss O’Shea’s acting, Cube’s favorite and least favorite scenes in the movie and more. Check it out below.

(Video) O’Shea Jackson Jr. Talks To Playboy About ‘Straight Outta Compton’

As you’re well aware of by now, Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. stars as his father in the box office smash, Straight Outta Compton. Though it was his first-ever acting role, lil’ Cube delivered a spot-on portrayal of the hip-hop legend, launching what’s sure to be a fruitful acting career in the future. Sitting down with Playboy, my future baby’s daddy O’Shea discussed how he prepared for the role for over two years, the challenges in playing his own flesh and blood, and more…as well as being tricked into asking his parents to order the Playboy channel before he was too old to even know what he was asking for! LOL! Check out the interview below.

Ice Cube & Son O’Shea Jackson, Jr.’s Mean Mugs Are Perfect … For The Family Christmas Cards

Every time I think of N.W.A., what goes through my head is ‘Straight outta Compton/a crazy motherf**ker named Ice Cube …” The opening to that track was a serious one, and Ice Cube had the mean mug face down-packed. Oddly enough, Cube’s son [twin], O’Shea Jackson Jr., has the same mean mug that landed him his role in the N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton. The father/son duo stopped by Conan to talk the upcoming biopic, and the late night host challenged the two into a scowling contest. Because it was done perfectly, I wouldn’t be able to tell you who won, however, they did get their mugs on a Christmas card. Check it out after the jump.

(Video) Ice Cube Expresses His Thoughts On Ghostwriting in Hip-Hop

With the worldwide release quickly approaching, Ice Cube, director F. Gary Gray, and the rest of the cast are in full gear to promote Straight Outta Compton. While speaking on the N.W.A. biopic, Cube opened up on a very hot topic that sparked the on-going(?) beef between Drake and Meek Mill. Find out what he had to say after the jump!

Ouch! Eazy-E’s Son Gets Denied Playing The Role Of His Father In N.W.A. Movie

There’s a lot of hard feelings in the air after Ice Cube picked a no-name to play Eazy-E in the N.W.A. movie over his own flesh and blood. Lil Eazy-E is NOT a happy camper. Ice Cube chose to cast his own son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., to play him in the flick and picked a completely random to fill Eazy’s role. Dr. Dre’s own son didn’t get casted either. However, Lil Eazy is still going to help support and promote the film in honor of his late father who passed in 1995. Do you think he should have gotten the role of his famous rapper father?
