Erica and Tina Campbell are bidding farewell to their father, Eddie Atkins, Jr. who had been fighting cancer. Radio producer, Sheilah Belle, announced that Mr. Campbell had lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Erica and Tina have reached out to supporters via Twitter, thanking them for their prayers and well-wishes, saying: “Thanks (for) all the kind words & prayers sent today. Our Dad was a great man, but he’s with Jesus now he taught us how to pray & trust God… Our hearts are heavy but we can rejoice knowing our father knew we loved him. RIP Elder Eddie A. R.I.P. Former Washington Governor, Booth Garner, Dies At Age 76
Booth Garner, former two-term Washington governor passed away on Friday at his Tacoma home. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease two years after he ended his last term as the state’s 19th governor. In his biography, he was asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said, “I tried to help people,” then goes on to say, “I got out of the office and talked with real people, and I think I made a difference.” We send our prayers and respect to his family!
RIP: Temptations Singer Richard Street Passes At Age 70
Condolences go out to the friends and family of Temptations singer Richard Street, who passed away yesterday at the age of 70. His wife Cindy Street announced late last night that he’d passed in a Las Vegas hospital from complications due to a recent illness. Services are expected to be held in Cypress, CA next week. Rest in peace.
BREAKING NEWS: Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch Dies At 88
Former New York Mayor Ed Koch, mayor who typically greeted constituents with a “How’m I doin’?” and who rescued NYC from near-financial ruin passed away today. Koch died at 2 AM at the New York Presbyterian/Columbia hospital, he passed of congestive heart failure. Koch served as mayor of NY for three terms. His acidic month got the politician world wide love. He was a very popular mayor, winning a second term with 75% of the vote and a third with 78%. Last week, Koch had been released after being treated for water in his legs and lungs having initially been admitted on January 19th. He passed away at age 88. See photos of the beloved mayor below..
RIP: “Rescue Me” Singer Fontella Bass Passes At 72
