The Philadelphia 76ers had a big unveiling at their arena last night to show off their “new” jerseys for the 2015-16 NBA season. The Jersey’s are not much different than they already were, but there are a few noticeable changes, highlighted by the ode to the older Sixers style from the 70’s and 80’s. They did it in style, putting on a big event and inviting past Sixers greats to be on hand.

In each of the last two NBA Drafts, the Sixers selected what they hoped would be cornerstone big men in Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid. While both are loaded with talent, the moves were criticized and viewed as being risky considering that both players were injured at the time and would need to miss the entirety of their first NBA seasons. Things worked out according to plan with Noel, who showed all kinds of promise while appearing in 75 games last season. But for Embiid, a recent setbackwith his foot injury could put things on hold for much longer than the team anticipated.
