Earlier we learned that the officer that shot Philando Castile has now been charged with manslaughter. Philando Castile’s friend has now spoken out to the public saying how he is pleased with the progress. The officer has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and two felony counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm.


Officer Who Killed Philando Castile During Traffic Stop Charged With Second-Degree Manslaughter

Back in July, Philando Castile was shot and killed by a Minnesota Officer during a traffic stop. His girlfriend was able to stream the whole entire incident via Facebook Live. Justice has now been served as Officer Jeronimo Yanez has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and two felony counts of dangerous discharge of a firearm.


Philando Castile’s Former High School Raises Money For A Scholarship In Honor Of Him

It’s been over a month since Philando Castile passed away. His former high school, St. Paul Central High School, has now started a scholarship in his name. The scholarship will cater to underprivileged students who are looking to have a career in education or child development.

Philando Castile was racially profiled due to his “wide nose” and less than two minutes after being pulled over a police officer shot and killed him. Castile notified the officer that he did have a gun and that he did have a gun permit and was licensed to carry. When reaching for his license he was shot in front of his girlfriend and daughter. This is an extremely sad story and it’s making people wonder “can I reach for anything?” or do you just sit there. Well Plies has a message for any police officer who pulls him over and I have to say I think I would do the same thing.


(Video) Mourners Gather For Philando Castile’s Funeral In Minnesota

Mourners gather and pack the 3,000 seat St. Paul Cathedral for Philando Castile, who’s life was cut short last week due to another police brutality incident. Castile was 32 years young and was delivered in a white casket with roses atop, on a horse drawn carriage for the 90 minute funeral. People were lined up along the church with signs reading “Unite for Philando”, in hope we get some peace. Rest in peace Philando.
