According to the American Civil Liberties Union, it’s more likely than not that your local government or a private company has all the technology they need to track your whereabouts by scanning your license plate. Certain traffic cameras set up across the country are capable of scanning the tags of every vehicle that drives past. Today, these cameras are used by three quarters of all police departments. If a vehicle has been placed on a police watch list, an alert is triggered and the police department is notified. Less than one percent of all license plates scanned lead to alerts, and even fewer actually result in arrests.

Police Halt Flavor Flav’s $8,000 Firework Display
Yesterday Flavor Flav was ready to set off about $8,000 worth of fireworks near in his Vegas neighborhood. Last year, Flav almost set the neighborhood on fire when he decided to set off his fireworks display and her was lectured by police. This year, Flav had an arsenal of fireworks from doing a commercial with a company who not only paid him in cash but gave him a garage full of an assortment of fireworks. The only problem for Flav was that police got wind of his plans before he could execute them. Despite the fact that he claimed he would be “responsible” this year when setting them off, police stepped in at around 5 p.m., Vegas time, and threatened to put the hype man under arrest if he so much as set off one firecracker. Philly Police Shoot Aggressive Naked Guy!!
Now, it’s definitely been hot out. But still, that’s no excuse for people to walk around cities naked unless it’s South Beach –but even that’s questionable. Regardless, around 5 a.m. in Philly a police officer noticed a naked man “acting in a very unstable and violent manner.” Hit the jump for more details.
