NRA Breaks Silence One Week After Newtown Massacre, Says We Need More Guns

One entire week after the horrific, tragic events that happened in Newtown, CT, the NRA has finally broken their silence. I have been waiting for them to release a statement in which they would try to convince us that guns aren’t bad for people to have. Granted, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” there’s no way any can justify the need for assault weapons to me. I fully stand being VP Biden and his moves to ban assault weapons. Back to the topic at hand, in true NRA fashion, they stated that we need more guns saying, “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre bashed the media during his speech and went on to say that schools need armed guards. Although I do agree the schools need more security, I’m not sure an armed guard is any solution. What if a madman overpowers the armed guard, grabs his gun, and starts shooting? Find out what else he said below. Julie A

President Obama Cuts Back On Inaugural Celebrations

For the first time in 60 years, there will be significantly less inaugural celebrations. President Obama has announced that there will only be three balls this year and no more. Two of the three will be actual inaugural parties and concert honoring military families. Normally, there are 10 balls per inaugural celebrations. President Obama announced the cut backs due to the economy of the country and because it’s his re-election and not his first term. Read more below. Julie A.

(Video) President Obama To Put VP Biden In Charge Of Gun Control Laws

In light of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, President Obama is looking into placing VP Biden in charge of gun control laws and making certain restrictions on obtaining weapons. The President will be making the announcement sometime today before 12 noon. Other problems he’s looking into will include tighter school security and mental health issues. Of course these all relate to the recent accident, and could help with any future situations. It’s sad to say that it took 20 babies to pass in order for this to happen, however it’s a great move. This is getting out of hand. Drop down bottom for more. JaaiR (JR)

(Photo) SMH: NCAA Player Kicked Off Team After Calling President Obama A Ni**er!!!

Damn B, really?!  It’s so sad to me to see things like this. smh.  Just when you hope and think that people might stop with their ignorance, someone proves you wrong. Bradley Patterson is a walk-on long snapper for the Division II University of North Alabama football team has been kicked off the team after sending a racist tweet last night during Sunday Night Football.  He sent out a tweet in anger directed at President Obama because SNF was interrupted for Obama to give a speech at the memorial for the victims of the shooting in Newtown, CT. What he tweeted was EXTREMELY out of line.  I’m pretty sure if he comes across the wrong people, he’s going to be in trouble. GameTimeGirl
