On Monday night, Lupe Fiasco released a new track off his forthcoming project. The song, “Around My Way,” was over Pete Rock’s classic “T.R.O.Y.” beat, but slightly redone as they couldn’t get the rights to the original. When Pete Rock caught wind of the new version, he was very upset that a song so personal to him had been remade in such a fashion, and took to his Twitter to express his anger not so much toward Lupe but the whole thing in general, specifically the producer. Lil Wayne Settles $1.5 Million Lawsuit With “Tha Carter III” Producer
So lately it’s been evident that Weezy doesn’t have the best luck with who is usually a Rapper’s best friend… The Music Producer. Wayne had recently ran into another legal disagreement with a producer off his most successful LP to date “Tha Carter 3” for one of the songs entitled “Love Me or Hate Me”… which is featuring as a bonus on the Deluxe Edition. Lil Wayne Settles $20 Million “Carter III” Lawsuit
This comes as no surprise but, the news is the news so I must report it! Producer Deezle had sued Wayne over production on the Carter III, claiming he produced several songs on the album but was never paid for his work. The YMCMB camp is INFAMOUS for not paying producers, and equally infamous for paying up once you sue them…and with no bad blood! Deezle was and is still very much cool with the gang.
