(Photos) DOPE! Nas Gets His Own Mural In His Hometown Of Queensbridge

Nas has repped Queensbridge since he got his start in the game, and his hood is showing him the love right back with a brand new mural. Yesterday, fellow QB native Havoc (of Mobb Deep) took to Instagram to share a picture of the mural, captioning it:

“#Queensbridge they just gave a long time friend from the hood a mural! He earned every last bit of that! @nas”

The artwork was a collaboration between 4 artists – Eli Eos (who curated the painting as well,) Jorit Agoch, Lawrence “Myse” Hosannah, and FCEE. It’s amazing! If you want to see the mural in person, it’s located on the corner of 40th Ave and 21st St. in Queens. If not, you can always just check out the pics below!

This Is Dope! Attention Nas Fans: If You Want YOUR Baby Picture On The ‘Illmatic’ Cover, Here’s Your Chance!

Not only is Nas one of the most legendary rappers in the game, but his “Illmatic” album is debatably the best Hip-Hop album to EVER be released. For all the die-hard Nas fans out there (including myself), here’s something cool I had to share with you. In honor of the 20th anniversary of “Illmatic,” not only is Nas going on tour with DJ Premier to perform the album at it’s entirety and re-releasing the project with some never before heard remixes on April 15th, but he’s letting his fans create their OWN version of his classic album-cover. We all know what Nasir Jones’ baby face looks like from this specific project, but now here’s your chance to make your own Illmatic XX cover art using your own baby picture! The Grand Prize winner will receive two tickets to a Nas concert and an autographed CD and merchant prize pack. Two more First Prize winners will also receive autographed CDs by Nas and merch prize packs, as well. Click below for the link!

(Video) NBA: Metta World Peace Reps Queensbridge During Post-Game Interview

Metta World Peace returned last night from his seven game suspension to help the Lakers win 96-87 over the Denver Nuggets.  World Peace chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds, his defense was greatly missed as he helped the Lakers win game 7 and move on to the Western Conference semifinals.  Of course the night wouldn’t be complete without something extra memorable from World Peace.  During his post-game interview with Craig Sager he was sure to rep his hood.  Check it out after the jump. NBA: Guess What Ron Artest’s 2nd Choice For Name Change Was If Metta World Peace Was Denied?!

Posted by Sabrina B. @gametimegirl As we all know Ron Artest changed his name to “Metta World Peace” this past September. On Friday, during an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Metta admitted on air that he had a safety school sort of name, in case “Metta World Peace” didn’t work out. Check out what it is after the jump…
