Founder of CMJ, Alexis D’Amecourt informs us on the dealings of the annual music marathon. The then-and-now of starving artists and artists who have already reached for the stars. The festival kicked off on Tues. [10/15] and will go all the way to Sat. [10/19]. Artists such as Cults, White Denim, Calvin Love, Vic Mensa and SZA have touched the stage and others to expect are Raekwon, Travi$ Scott, Wet and Father John Misty. Despite, the news that CMJ is currently going through some legal issues at the moment, that hasn’t stopped D’Amecourt from allowing the unknown names to make moves. “It’s an incredible amount of talent out there,” he says. “I think what you see is a passion for bringing new bands…emerging bands and really giving them the platforms this week,” CEO of it all adds.
