Rihanna Reportedly Leaves Def Jam & Signs With Who?

Rihanna has reportedly left her longtime (and only ever!) label home at Def Jam Recordings, in favor of Jay Z’s Roc Nation imprint. The move – while semi-surprising because of the great relationship she’s maintained with Def Jam over the years – does make sense, as it was Hov who signed her way back in 2005, and she’s been a part of Roc Nation since 2010 under a management contract. News first hit the web earlier this week, when the superstar singer was no longer listed as an artist on Def Jam’s website, but yet in the artist section of Roc Nation’s site – when she was previously listed as strictly a managed client. New details have emerged, however, and Def Jam isn’t completely out of the picture! Billboard has learned that while Rihanna will be a frontline artist going forward with Roc Nation, her next album will still be distributed by Def Jam, and the label actually just met with Rih last week to discuss her next moves. According to sources, an announcement on official plans is expected “soon.” Hit the gallery for some pics of Rih and Jay over the years!
