IFWT Remembers Static Major On The Day Of His Passing

On this day in 2008, we lost singer/songwriter, Static Major – just as he was gaining recognition in FRONT of the camera for Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop.” Static passed suddenly, after succumbing to a rare autoimmune disorder called myasthenia gravis. He was also on the verge of releasing his debut album. Today, we celebrate his life and memory with some of the biggest hits the KY native had a hand in crafting. RIP, Static Major!


80s Singer Vanity Leaves Most Of Her Estate To Church

Earlier this week, popular 80s singer and Prince protegé Vanity passed away at the age of 57 from a small intestine complication. Bossip has obtained details on Vanity’s will, and her dying wish was to have her ashes scattered over the water off the Hawaiian coast, followed by a big party “with cake, balloons and ice cream and no tears!”


RIP: Mob Wives’ Big Ang Confirmed To Have Passed

Last night, there were conflicting reports as to whether Mob Wives‘ Big Ang had passed. The reality star had been battling stage 4 cancer of the throat and was in critical condition, but some sites were prematurely announcing her death as she was still fighting – much to her praying family’s dismay. Unfortunately, she has lost the battle, and passed early this morning at 3:01am in NYC. She was 55. Below, a statement from her rep. Big Ang is survived by her husband Neil, two children and six grandchildren. RIP.


Rest In Peace: Big Kap Found Dead At 45

Today, unfortunately the hip-hop word lost another legendary player in the game. Big Kap, whose real name is Keith Carter, was found dead at the age of 45 in New York. As of now, no cause of death has been announced yet. Kap is described as, “One of the most respected and well known DJ’s to ever step on the scene from Biggie to Shade45 BIG KAP is a true legend and pioneer in the hip-hop game.” He is most well known for helping launch Biggie Smalls’ career back in the 1990s. His last gig before is death was back in November, although he was booked the day he passed. He will be missed! RIP Big Kap.

Last night, the original A$AP Mob members Rocky, Ferg, Twelvvy, Nast, Illz and more hit the stage at Terminal 5 in NYC along with an incredible line-up of stars to help remember the life of their brother Steven Rodriguez better known as A$AP Yams. Yams, who was the founder of the A$AP Mob, was celebrated by many different groups last night including Pro-Era, Flatbush Zombies, Tan Boyz plus more as well as some of his personal favorites such as Danny Brown, Action Bronson and Lil Uzi Vert. The night went on with nothing but hits as even new faces like Atlanta’s MadeinTyo rocked the crowd with his hit “I Want (Skrr Skrr).”
