40 years ago today, the baseball world lost a legend, both on and off the field. Roberto Clemente died December 31, 1972 in a plane crash, while on the way to help deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. That gesture alone shows you the type of person he was and should be remembered for. On the field he was a 12 time all star, won the MVP, had 3,000 hits and he was the first Latin American player elected to the Hall of Fame. We salute you Roberto Clemente. Rest in Peace. IamJOE357
