Wiz Khalifa Sued By Former Label, Rostrum Records

Earlier this month, Wiz Khalifa sued his former label, Rostrum Records. Rostrum is the indie, Pittsburgh-based label that Wiz got his start on at just 16-years-old, but left a few years back as his celebrity grew and he needed a stronger backing. In Wiz’s suit, he was asking for $1 million for Rostrum failing to disclose alternative arrangements that could be more beneficial to him, and instead tied him to an agreement that “reached for more than a decade into virtually every aspect” of his professional life.

Wow, Mac Miller Officially Leaves Rostrum Records!

Mac Miller came into the game on Rostrum Records, the independent label from his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA that he shared with fellow Pittsburgh star, Wiz Khalifa. However, after 4 years together, Mac has decided not to renew his now-expired contract. It’s still nothing but love, though! “Rostrum is my family. That is forever,” Miller said in a statement to MTV. “No matter what, we will always work together. We moved mountains and I can only see them continuing that tradition. I am grateful for everything I learned and am always here for whatever.” After selling 5.4 million singles, more than 750k albums and scoring a successful reality show on MTV 2 while with the label, you can do nothing but respect that Mac wants to move on to even bigger heights! Check out a statement from Rostrum below. Best of luck with whatever comes next, Mac!
