Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Says Lack Of Resources Distressing In Rockaways

The residents of the Rockaway’s whose homes were destroyed by the SuperStorm Sandy got some relief when visited by Robert F. Kennedy Jr, along with a free carnival for the kids. Kennedy brought clothes and toys to the families of the storm ravaged areas during a tour of the areas most affected by the storm, but had some stern words for the federal, state, and city officials he feels haven’t done enough. Hurricane Sandy hit the Northeast coast more than two weeks ago, but in some places their homes are totally gone, partially gone or just got power back. After President Obama came to New York today to see the effects of sandy he had a lot to say about the New York people. $100MiL To Restore The Shore!?

Damn, that’s a lot of money. Tonight MTV will broadcast the “Restore The Shore” Sandy Hurricane special. Bill Akers, mayor of Seaside Heights, NJ estimates the damages to be $100MiL. The town got 75% of their revenues from tourist, but if Seaside isn’t there than neither is the monies. $14MiL alone is probably what it’s going to cost to repair the boardwalk. We’re talking no chump change here, but if they can come up with that amount, I will need them to stop by my town and see what they can do. President Obama’s Press Conference On Tax Hike

Just a few minutes ago at a press conference was President Obama. He spoke on the support of Mayor Bloomberg, him visiting NY soon to check up on the recent Sandy distruction, and the climate change. “Temperature around the globe is increasing and a lot of it has to deal with human behavior,” says President Obama. According to the President during his 1st term he doubled fuel efficiency and that helps to reduce carbon. For the current term he’s hoping for potential breakthrough investments that will help with the climate change and plans on having conversations with scientists and elected officials for short-term promblem solutions.
