Actor Rick Gonzalez (Old School; Coach Carter) Signs Record Deal With Prodigy’s Label
I didn’t even know he rapped, but actor Rick Gonzalez, made famous by his roles in Old School, Coach Carter and more, has signed a deal with Prodigy’s Infamous Records. Going by the rap moniker Realm Reality, Rick’s deal with the label was announced by P yesterday during an appearance on MTV. “At Infamous, I’m looking for artist that, #1 have their own movement goin’, they got their thing goin’ already,” Prodigy said of the deal. As for Realm, he’s been rapping since 1998 and even dropped a mixtape in 2011, so despite the fact he’s made a name out of acting, music is nothing new to him! Vado tweeted that he was probably going to deal with Miami as far as him signing a deal, however nothing has been sketched in stone yet. DJ Khaled and VADO have been hanging around with each other ALOT, but that just goes to show who wants his talent on their label the most. I think this deal will happen, it’s just a matter of time. The bidding war has ended. After building a crazy buzz since he burst onto the scene last year with heavy co-signs from Young Money’s own Drake, Canadian-bred singer The Weeknd has officially signed a record deal with Universal Republic.
